Even
Death Does Not Part Us
Two souls lost in their own pursuits
Blissfully unaware of the other’s existence,
Living lives so routine and mundane
Thinking their lives to be nothing but a bane.
But cruel fate brought down its executioner’s axe
Ending their blissful ignorance
Shattering their fragile worlds
As they stand face to face in astonished speechlessness!!!!
The whole world around them spins madly
The seven seas roar in their ears
And in their eyes constellations spin and fly
Yes!! – They belong to each other surely!!!
They rush into an embrace hugs and kisses,
Happily whispering sweet nothing to the other
Taking each other through all the senses five
They say – we belong together forever and ever!!
Suddenly oh so suddenly stark reality sinks in
Slicing and piercing in so deeply –oh so painfully
They felt their hearts wrenched and squeezed
They wished their tortured souls would depart !!
Alas it was not to be rather never to be
Each was claimed and belonged to another,
Though in bodies apart, in heart and soul they were one,
Waiting for cruel fate’s final release to freedom!!!
O! why did they have to suffer the agony so intense
O! why did they have to live with ones they loved not
O! why were they chained to worlds they were not in
All in vain – all in vain – till their final release.
Their sacrifice for the very ones who chained them
Was not understood – nay it was misunderstood
They were called Adulterers and debauchers --
O- none understood their love divine !!!!!
Nature lamented with them withering in sorrow,
The seas and the oceans roared and crashed in anger,
The mighty gales lashed and tore at all in its path,
Alas but nothing could change the human mindset!!!!
Weights of morality and duty weighed down their necks
Their limbs shackled by fear and propriety
Miserable lives they lead inching slowly towards …..Death,
The great leveler granting them togetherness for eternity!!!!!!
