Yet to Come ...

The Beautiful Stranger

Through the darkness of the night
When Christmas stars twinkled bright,
Came a stranger, like a ray of light.
He changed the course of my life.

Time stood still, the moment froze
My heart stirred, my spirit soared.
And when I looked in his eyes,
I knew, it was love at first sight.

Never, never before had I seen
Such beauty in form, such sheen.
I puckered my trembling lips
And planted him a loving kiss.

He was alarmed, but I knew
My love was so pure, so true
He gave me sleepless nights
When with ache, I writhed and cried.

Then, one day when he smiled
Tears of joy, welled in my eyes.
We were together all the time,
To feel the breeze and hear the chime.
Oh! It was fun and sometimes pain
But the love for him, I cannot explain.
He’ll leave me one day to go
How will I feel then, I don’t know…

Through the piercing pain and danger,
An avalanche of emotions I felt
When I first met this beautiful stranger
Bundled-up in my hospital bed.
